Toddler Program
The first three years of life form the bedrock of a child’s development—physically, cognitively, and emotionally. By the age of three, 80% of a child’s brain is already developed, making this a crucial window for learning and growth. At Kaizen Early Years, our Toddler Program is intentionally crafted to harness this potential through a blend of the STEAM based, Play based and Montessori philosophy, offering hands-on, sensory-rich experiences that nurture curiosity and support holistic development—across the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative domains.
Social & Emotional Development
At Kaizen, we believe that meaningful relationships are the foundation for meaningful learning. Our toddlers are welcomed into a warm, secure, and hygienic environment where they can explore freely, form trusted bonds with their facilitators, and gradually build comfort within the school setting.
We support families with a well-structured transition plan that helps children ease into the rhythm of the day. Consistent routines promote a sense of security and autonomy, while shared moments—like beginning the day with breakfast as a community—build a sense of belonging and social awareness.
Activities like circle time, group storytelling, and collaborative play support emotional expression and empathy. Our multi-age peer interactions and community events offer additional opportunities for children to develop confidence, communication, and kindness—core to becoming a balanced and socially aware learner.
Physical Development
Toddlers are full of energy and eager to explore the world through movement. Our campus offers natural and purposefully designed spaces—sandpits, rock climbing, ninja warrior, zip lining and obstacle course —that promote healthy physical growth.
Inside the classroom, our curated Montessori materials and learning provocations help refine fine motor skills—such as grasping, pouring, threading, and stacking—building the foundations for self-care and academic tasks like writing.
Cognitive Development
Toddlers at Kaizen are natural investigators, and we honour this stage of rapid brain development by encouraging exploration, experimentation, and critical thinking. Through hands-on experiences, they begin to observe, make connections, and develop early reasoning and memory.
Montessori materials support concepts such as sorting, sequencing, cause and effect, and spatial awareness. Our facilitators guide children in solving everyday challenges and making choices—essential elements of decision-making and problem-solving. Learning is individualized and child-led, with the flexibility to follow each child’s pace and interests, in keeping with both Play based and Montessori principles.
Language Development
Language blossoms at this age, and at Kaizen, we nurture it intentionally through rich conversations, storytelling, music, and sensory play. Our environment is filled with language—both spoken and visual—to encourage communication, listening, and comprehension.
We also honour and support each child’s mother tongue, fostering a strong linguistic foundation rooted in identity and belonging.
Pre-writing skills such as visual tracking, hand-eye coordination, and muscle control are strengthened through purposeful Montessori work, preparing toddlers for future reading and writing success.
Creative Development
Creativity isn’t just a skill—it’s a mindset. At Kaizen, we offer our toddlers daily opportunities to express themselves and make meaning through art, music, dance, storytelling, and dramatic play. These experiences are not isolated but are thoughtfully woven, allowing children to make real-world connections and view learning holistically.
Whether they’re painting with sponges, experimenting with rhythm, or building with natural materials, toddlers are empowered to express themselves freely and confidently.
